It's important to stay on top of the information and critical to flood the room for Lawrence hearings/meetings, even though can feel confusing -- perhaps even overwhelming! -- trying to keep track of developments in the ETS and Gulick matters. The reason it's so important was revealed at a recent Planning Board meeting, when a member said the quiet part aloud -- they "read the room," and if not many people show up, they think our interest has waned. We need to show them that they're wrong, we care, and we'll fight!
We realize that it's difficult to fit this into your schedules, especially when there are so many meetings in such a short time span, end-of-school year is occurring with associated graduations and events, summer vacations are starting, etc. Perhaps the town is even counting on this? That's why it's more important than ever that you stay engaged by doing as many of the following as possible:
1. By Sunday, 5/31/26 -- SIGN the petition to get our neighbor Brad Moore on the November Ballot for Town Council. Download the form, print it out, and put it in Rick Miller's mailbox by Sunday night, 164 Carter Road, or sign it at Rick's house this Sunday between 11 - 1 p.m. Note that ANY Lawrence township resident who is a legally qualififed voter can sign (so every adult in your household counts as a separate signature). If you have time, Brad needs volunteers to collect signatures this weekend -- ask your friends and neighbors, or go out into Lawrence township and ask strangers! The goal is for each person to collect ten signatures.

2. On 6/8/26, approximately 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. - HOLD this date and time for a private neighborhood meeting, where we'll share information and updates, so that we can speak with one relatively consistent voice at town events. We'll also introduce you to the attorney being hired to represent the ETS and Gulick coalitions in two separate lawsuits. Location, exact time and Agenda will be shared shortly.
3. On 6/11/26 at 7:00 p.m., Lawrence Senior Center -- ATTEND the Lawrence "Master Plan Town Hall." Town representatives will share status of the Master Plan (the document that governs Lawrence township). The ETS and Gulick ordinances need to consistent with the Master Plan to be valid, so it's important to understand whether Lawrence is planning to make changes.
4. On 6/16/26 at 6:00 p.m., Municipal Building - ATTEND the Lawrence Town Council hearing on the ETS and Gulick Ordinances. At the May 19th hearing, the Town Council postponed the hearing re the ETS ordinance because of changes that had been made to it the previous night by the Planning Board. The town's legal counsel said that they needed to re-notify neighbors about the new ordinance, in compliance with the law. Although neighbors within 200 feet haven't yet received any such notice, Lawrence notified the court in writing that they plan to hold a hearing on BOTH the ETS and Gulick Ordinances on 6/16.
